National Trust heritage Award
Comber Consultant's office is an 1889 commercial / residential building that was in a very sad state of disrepair when we purchased it in 2012. Two years of work saw its heritage qualities preserved and enhanced and the building transformed into a facility suitable for modern commercial use. The project was achieved through the efforts of careful planning between ourselves and heritage architect, Patrick O'Carrigan, and a lot of hard, painstaking, physical work from heritage sensitive stone masons, carpenters, plumbers and electricians. The award by he National Trust (NSW) for our successful adaptive reuse was a most satisfying outcome from this project. The building is now over 130 years young, has witnessed personal histories that span the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries and has every quality to even see it through to the twenty-second century.
